No other gauge pod on the market comes as close to an OEM look as the 42nd Draft Designs a-pillar pod. Carpeted in OEM-like headliner fabric and molded for the MKIV a-pillar, it fits and looks pretty sweet. The red lighting is a close match to OEM, as well.

Installing the pod isn't too bad on cars without a-pillar airbags. Plumbing the line and getting the gauge to work isn't a problem. I recommend tapping into the FPR line for a boost reading. Also, you may want to consider using a metal t-fitting instead of the plastic one that comes with the kit. Wrapping the line with split-loom wouldn't be a bad idea either to shield it from heat.

Installation on a 2002+ GTI with airbags in the a-pillaris a bit of a bitch due to a stubborn clip at the very top. Below is some insight into getting that clip to release, which can be done quite easily if you look at where to attack it...

Here is the trim removed
A closeup shot of where the top/difficult clip is. It has nothing to do with the blue plastic part, so stop messing with it!

Here is the trick to getting the top clip out. If you look at the top part at the end, you'll see a little round end of the clip sticking out. Stick a screwdriver in that and pull the clip outward. This picture shows the clip pulled out. When it is all the way in, only a small part is showing.
Another shot of the clip. Pull it all the way out when putting the trim back on, and use a screwdriver to push the clip back into place. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP, because this clip is whats going to hold the a-pillar in place when the airbag goes off. Unless, of course, you always wanted to know what it felt like to be hit in the face with an a-pillar.
